I have upgraded two vehicles with HID lights and I could go back I would have gone straight to LED. Truth be told I bought "cheap" hid lights on eBay for both. Only ever had 1 issue, a ballast went bad. I'm just going to get to the pro's and con's. LED: + In my experience, brighter + Instantly...

It's a 1992 cab and dash... Only ever else is old sheet metal. I am considering putting an old dash in it sometime though because they are not 100% plastic.

I regret not doing a crewcab. There is always next time though! And I feel there will be.

I'm doing the same 74 cummins build, just the opposite way... I'm putting 74 body panels on a 92 first gen nv4500 W250 truck.

I completely understand and agree with your buy a diesel rig point of view. The only thing is anywhere close to me the trucks are worth an arm and leg. I wish we had East coast prices! I plan to box the frame and as soon as I find one buy a Dana 60 for the front to replace the 10 bolt Chevy...
