Laura has had an urge to get a camper for some time now, and things finally lined up at the right time and we now have a 2004 27 & 1/2' Keystone Sprinter fifth wheel with two slide units. Gonna use it it camping around where we live with the granddaughters, and some trips a little further away. There is a ton of campgrounds close enough to us to stay as busy as we want to.

It's got a new A/C unit, new tires, been winterized, and is ready to go! Our dog Sophie has checked it out and gives her approval, so it should be alright. Now I have to find a diesel.

Got to find a diesel? How did you get it home? Now to stock an other home and don't forget winter camping. We enjoyed late fall camping. Sometimes had the whole camp grounds to our selves.
What ever you got it home with should get you to a local camp ground.

I was joking about the diesel. We have the kids truck for that, I'm a yard mule, basically. It was dropped off by Laura's mother and husband. I just got the fifth wheel hitch the day earlier, and have yet to install it.

We loved camping when our oldest kids were young (15 years ago) and now wanting to get back in it with our newest arrival who is now 7. Congrats to you!

Looks good, now about that Cummins swap for your 72:D
No! Gas guzzling 440 is all it needs. I'd just buy a newer truck with a Cummins in it, so if you know of a cheap '94 or newer Dodge 2500 4wd Cummins equipped truck, let me know!

Been contemplating the needed overdrive to reduce the gas that guzzling 440 uses. We have a few around that have greatly improved fuel efficiency by just adding throttle body injection from the 88-92 ram 360.
As appealing as the Cummins is maintenance and even cost of small repairs can gobble up any gains in fuel efficiency real fast.

The 5.9 Cummins sounds like it needs very little in the way of maintenance, and usually around a certain mileage. But finding a clean one year me for a price I'm willing to pay, might take a long time. And I don't have the space to do a swap.
