Have looked for this information and can not find it. Also have found no casting numbers on the block.
From all the internet info i can come by is the vin is supposed to match the engine number on the valve cover.
The first 12 of the vehicle are 1FDWE37LXXHA
If correct from the posted engine tag VFM1155AYMHB
What is this engine out of and what would be its manufacture date?

At least i now know why the front on the van has been apart before. Engine replacement.
This one will be fixed and put back in. Found nothing major as yet. Nothing an engine kit and machine shop will not take care of.

I guess one could call it that. Mainly because i want to know what is going back in.

Everything I have is recycled! I'm no eco hugging anything, just have limited funding.

It's always nice to know what's in an engine to give you peace of mind.

I hear yah on both counts ! The motor in my Warlock was rebuilt with about 2000 miles on it when I got the truck . I still pulled it and built it again myself , my way .

I could buy a remanufactured engine for this guaranteed for 4 years for $2700 but they will not cover removed and installation if anything goes wrong. I just do not feel it would be worth it not knowing what they may use for parts. So when the crankshaft gets removed it the block and heads will get sent off to the local machine shop.
I refuse to use anyone that will not return my original parts.
I also like buying parts local but may try an on line vendor due to parts cost.
