HALIFAXHOPS
Beerening at its best!
It's kind of hard to forget Big Block A Body's . I think of it as a what if "Godzilla meets Bambi" theory of going fast .
Now that's funny!

Bob says just a 426 single 4bbl, dual point dist out of a 64 dodge, he recently bought two big valve 440 heads and a edelbrock intake, it will just look cool in our 67 when all done. I know different guys have come over and want to buy that big block so I have to keep a eye and ear open when they come over so Bob doesn't sell it. Bobs plans were to paint the 67 a Sox and Martin paint scheme. He has all three colors he just needs the time to paint it,Early to mid 60's Hops . Hey Cindy , Do you know if it's a wedge , Max Wedge or a street wedge ? .... Can you tell I'm a motor head ? lol
Very cool, love those Belvedere and CoronetsWe have a Sox & Martin tribute/clone/ whatever you want to call it Belvedere (i think) up in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Haven't seen it the last couple of years at Molars in the Park, but then again, I've skipped the B body classes when walking around.A'a and C's have been my priority. I'll take the time this year.
Do you guys know if the thin metal pan under the big block intake manifold is reusable? Now that's funny!
Thank you, new gaskets and not silicone? If it is not bent up you can, it is a valley pan. Just put new gaskets on the top and the bottom.
I use just a super .light skin coat of silicone to hold the valley pan in place, but it's not necessary on the heads. It is needed at the corners of those metal strips that go across the front and rear of the block. I also use a new valley pan gasket, just cause I like spending money.Thank you, new gaskets and not silicone?
I use gaskets and spray them with copper seal but ant gasket spray will work. There is a chance the silicone can get sucked in to the intake ports. You do need some on the front and the back. It is used to keep the oil inside the motor. Weight savings I would think? Bear would know the reason.
What the? What grade of silicone are you using? Lol. I'm having a beer for you right now!Weight savings
Once again, huh?The thin paper gaskets.
I use rtv high heat usually. I also put a gasket on each side of the valley pan since I have had them leak in the past new to be safe. I know some guys just use the pan itself but I just like a bit more there. What the? What grade of silicone are you using? Lol. I'm having a beer for you right now!
Cool ! I've always wanted to do a theme like that on a street car . Make it look like there's "no way" that should have plates on it and it just rolled out of a drag racing history book .Bob says just a 426 single 4bbl, dual point dist out of a 64 dodge, he recently bought two big valve 440 heads and a edelbrock intake, it will just look cool in our 67 when all done. "Sure" pass the buck onto bear ... lol Believe it or not the factory never put any sort of gasket or seal on the front and the back of the valley pan . They relied on the valley pan it's self to seal it . But me personally have always run a bead of silicone across the front and back and in the corners . I hate leaks ! And with an aluminum intake I always use the paper gaskets as well .I use gaskets and spray them with copper seal but ant gasket spray will work. Same here . If your installing a factory cast intake then you can get away without the paper gaskets but with an aluminum intake it's pretty much a must .I use rtv high heat usually. I also put a gasket on each side of the valley pan since I have had them leak in the past new to be safe. I know some guys just use the pan itself but I just like a bit more there.
