Is that another Mitsubishi Truck with Plymouth badges? Kinda of like the D50 Dodges they had for awhile?

Barry Washington may join and ask for this to be removed...all I wanted to do was share with everyone...it is a real deal as far as I know...

Well it has a cab and a bed. In my book that classifies as a truck.

friend has a dodge rampage, same engine as the shadows and such. 2.2L he has a turbo ready to go on it

Exactly, Mopardude. A friend of mine had one just like the first picture. (He also was unfortunatly killed in it as well)

My dad had a D50 around the same year. It was a neat truck. Some of them in black with the sport seats were neat. The engine was a Mitsu 2.2, not the same as the 2.2 in a K car.

Isn't the Arrow the same thing as the Dodge D50? Years ago I drove one at work. Think it had a 1.6L engine and had a 4 speed. Was plenty doggy unless you really had it reved up. Very "tinny" in both build and sound when closing doors, etc. I believe I averaged around 24 mpg with it, which included a fair amount of driving off road in crop fields or gravel roads.

Wasn't the Rampage basically the front half of a Plymouth TC3 or Dodge 024 with a small pickup type bed on back? Can't say for sure about the Rampages, but the first generation Dodge Omnis and Plymouth Horizons (1979?) both 2 door hatchbacks and 4 door "boxes", had a 1.7 Volkswagen engine. Actually it was the 1.7 VW diesel block but with a different cylinder head. VWs had 1.6L gas and 1.7L diesel engines whereas the Dodge and Plymouths had the 1.7 gas only. My dad bought a '79 TC3 with automatic new and loved it. Back in the 55 mph speed limit days, he would get 34-35 mpg driving to Florida and back. Not very powerful, but a pretty cool little car for the day. And actually pretty comfortable on the long haul as well.

It wasn't until the next generation of front wheel drive Chrysler cars that they had the Chrysler built 2.2. Until recently, my boy had an '84 Chrysler Laser. Not sure, but I think 83? was the first year for the 2.2 and I believe '85 or '86 was the first year for the turbocharged version. The 2nd generation of front wheel drive cars shared the same drivetrain as the minivans did. We had an '84 Dodge Caravan with the 2.6L Mitsubishi and automatic. Was PLENTY doggy and I'd hate to see how slow the 2.2s in the vans were.
