So.just a couple of years ago?

You must be a lot better at saving than I am. I seriously don't plan on retiring, I plan to die at work, that way if I do retire it will be a bonus. My social security thing they send me tells me 67 for early retirement, 70 for regular, and 72 to get max benefits. Boy does that make one feel good.
Bob told me years ago when he turns 50 he will be done with work, our youngest turned 18, our house and shop was paid off, so in 2008 he retired. Bob just turned 58 and I turned 55 April 1st, Our two kids now are 30 and 26, yesterday we drove north to a casino and hit some bar and grill in this little town and some second hand stores

You guy's are lucky . I was forced to retire after I got hurt a while back . So I had no choice .

No wonder the core group on here, is here all the time, you all got plenty of it! That sucks that some of you had to stop working due to health issues, or whatever reason. I'm a spender not a saver, and I don't have a lot for retirement, something I don't plan on doing. That way I won't be disappointed when I don't! Pretty f'ed up isn't it? But I have enough crap to play with in the meantime, Laura keeps me busy with her projects, and I have you guys and gal here and FCBO, & FABO to keep me company. (I rally only look at those 3 sites and a few more regularly, very sad, but fun) No fb drama for this guy. Gear oil and spare parts keep me going. Got the big Mopar show in 2 weeks, gonna take lots of pics for you kids! Cruise ins and roll ins and whatever car show I can make it to and I'll be okay. As long as I can drive whatvi have (that drives) I'm a going keep keepin' on!

I guess Bob and I are very lucky for our health and plan to enjoy every day,
Very much so. You are an example of what they taught us the reward for hard work was. If only they mentioned savings in there too! I'm happy for you being able to live life at the drop of a hat.

Thanks, schools really teach nothing about life and growing older, most schools today doesn't have wood or metal shops anymore, but every kid today can operate a smart phone and a electronic device and know any restroom is ok to use whether your a guy, girl or a transqueer!

We have a transgender dude where I live, more power to him I don't care. He made a deal about not being able to use the women's restroom to change, took a selfie in it and posted it to fb, and caused a stir with the city council. He still looks like a dude. He will never be a pretty woman, but he wants to be a girl. I don't think making people uncomfortable furthers any cause. Maybe when he becomes Kylie instead of a dude, he can use the women's restroom, but no need to push the matter in other peoples faces. Like I said I don't care what he wants to be, I just think there are larger issues in life than what bathroom can I pee in.

Now I'm going to become a trans something or other and fight for equal rights for hamsters and gerbils!

Could you imagine being a kid today, knowing what life was like when we grew up? They would think it was boring, while I think it was way more relaxed. Everything wasn't instant, how would they cope now?

Ask a kid to mail a letter, I'm sure theyw oils all grab their phones and ask what the email address is.

I used to collect but pick them up if the price is right, really need to put one book together instead of all of the books I have, prob around five of them. Never paid more than 5 for any of them. Have hundreds of unused stamps just sitting in a pile.
