Does anybody know a good place to get factory aluminum wheels refinished? I have set of machined aluminum wheels that need reclearcoated.

I don't have suggestions in your area, my only input is that per our local Wheel Specialist here in Phoenix the procedure is a wheel restoration. No matter how large (major corrosion or accident damage) or small (simple curb checks) the work, they cost $175 ea to have done. I know, as much as wheels in many cases but I'm just the messenger. I'd look into what your local shops can do with simple surface prep and see if body shops can re-clear them, but be careful as I've had 'stealerships' damage the clear on my car while in service and they snuck the wheel out for a lip re-clear coat, they came back with a matte clear finish when the others were a clear gloss.

Can they be polished instead? Takes time but that's something you can do yourself. I've removed the damaged clear with paint remover then polished the wheels with simichrome polish. It worked pretty well on my Lotus.

This is what the dead clear coat looked like when I first got the car.

Then after removing the clear and polishing the wheels by hand with simichrome polish. It didn't remove the corrosion, but the general appearance improved a great deal considering the cost was mostly my own labor.
