I am going to swap out my Dana 44 in my 72 W200 for a Dana 60 out of an 89 Sno Commander W250. My question is this, can I swap the steering setup, steering wheel down to the box and linkage onto my 72? I could have tilt column and improved linkage and it's there waiting to be used. The axles are going in for sure, just wanted to know if any issues with the rest.

Is your truck an automatic ? If so then the gear indicator on your truck should be on the column and the 89 should be in the dash above the column .

It is an automatic. I could either keep the current column, or if I use the 89, just pay attention to what gear I select. I don't see the indicator in my Polara, the tachometer blocks it, but I also have a manual valve body so I always know what gear I'm in. I'll have to sit in the truck to see if I need the tilt.

So the rest of the swap should work?

I've swapped column's from 80's to late mid and late 70's before , so I don't see an issue with yours other then the indicator . The ones I've swapped were stick trucks , so I didn't have to worry about the gear indicator's . The only thing I can think of that might be different would be the harness coming out of the column . But you can work around that .
