Question about bed dimensions

I have a 76 D100 short bed fleetside and I would like to swap to a 1980 short bed stepside. Will a tonneau cover for the fletside fit on the stepside bed?

Though I have been around old cars an Mopars for years, this is my first truck. Thanks.

Agreed , It'll be to wide for one thing . Then there's the difference in the tail gate .
