looking for feedback on gm, ford, toyota engines for mid size trucks,, what is recommended in a new vehicle 2017 and newer-----looking for good experiences and bad to figure out what truck i want,,,,thanks!

When you say mid size trucks are you talking about the Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma? Ford just released the Ranger again in 2019. The Silverado, Tundra and F150 are full size.

Welcome from another Michigander

GM makes the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. The 3.6L gas engine is common. It has good power. The 2.8L Duramax diesel is also an option. Some people like it for towing and mileage. Some had issues with sensors and emissions parts.

Toyota makes the Tacoma. It has a 3.5L V6. People like it for lasting a long time. Some say the transmission feels slow. Others say it drives fine once you get used to it.

If you want power and towing, Ford is a good choice. If you want diesel, GM has an option. If you want something that just keeps going, Toyota works.

Hope that helps. Good luck picking your truck.
