OEM Mopar 340 Electronic Distributor #3656278 (1972 Date) + 7mm Wires – Correct for 340 / Fits SB V8
Price: $150 shipped (Lower 48)
Location: Lakeport, CA 95453
Description:
Offered for sale is a genuine, original Mopar electronic ignition distributor, Part #3656278. This unit was pulled from my 1973 Dodge Challenger with a 1990 360ci LA engine, but the date stamp indicates it was manufactured on the 15th week of 1972.
This part number is technically "correct" for 1972 340ci cars (A, B, and E-Bodies) with electronic ignition, regardless of transmission. However, in practicality, this distributor is compatible with most Mopar 8-cylinder engines across several decades.

Details:
- Part Number: 3656278 - Distributor, 3656066 - Vacuum Advance
- Date Stamp: 15th week of 1972
- Condition: Fully functional. The housing has some heat blackening on the backside from where it was mounted near the cylinder head.
- Wire Note: I noticed electrical tape on one of the wires for the SAE plug connector, so the insulation likely has a scar, but it does not affect functionality.
- Includes: A set of 7mm Hi-Temp Radio Suppression spark plug wires.
