Hey y’all, new to the forum. Was wondering about motor work on my truck. Have a 2005 Chevy Silverado z71 that has a lifter going out, burning oil, I have to add oil to it about every 3 days. Smoking when I crank it up causing the oil to burn off. Took it to a shop and it’s gonna cost me $4300 to fix it all. Would it be cheaper to buy a new motor and have the shop swap it out? It’s a 327 motor. Any info will help, thank u. Just hit 200,000 miles on her just don’t want to get a new truck

I just saw your post, with the miles on the engine it could be repaired but you may just want to replace it. I did a 08 for a customer and I believe I had about $6000 in it and the engine has a 3yr-100,000 mile warranty. Hope you got it all worked out
