I drive a 2012 F-350 crew cab dually with Michelin 245/75R17's, Load Range E and carry a 4,000# truck camper. Is there any benefit to upgrading to a 14 ply tire? Why or why not, please. TIA

Same tire that is on my 06 F250. I see really no good reason to. The payload have even been reached yet. Are you experiencing excessive side sway? That would be the only real reason to go with a heavier sidewall. Do you have the tires aired to their max of 60 psi?

What is tire load rating dual? Your tires r the limiting factor for hauling. E rated or 10ply s/b plenty to carry 4000lbs.
