Hi Folks!
Just thought I'd jump into a Truck forum , perhaps I can help or be helped if required. My Truck was one of the first 81's out on the street in the Canadian city of Winnipeg! I purchased it on December 10th 1980. The paper work on the window of the driver's door indicated that the truck was on a "finance hold" This of course was a time when Chrysler was just about on the rocks , a few of my friends said I was "nuts" to buy a new truck with Chrysler on the brink of going under. As things turned out Mr. Iacocca got the loan guarantees and Chrysler returned to viability! Well... anyhow my truck is a D150 equipped with the 225 cid Slant six and the A-833 overdrive transmission. Originally equipped with the Digital Electronic spark advance and a Holley 1 Barrel carb. My want at the time was a very basic truck , which I no doubt got. I had a set of road wheels with P225/78R/15 tires which I installed to replace the P195/78R/15 tires that the truck came with. It could be said that with the one barrel carb and the ESA that the truck came with certainly created no powerhouse, my next step was to remove the Holley and the ESA and replace all of it with the conventional Chrysler electronic ignition and The Carter 2 BBL carb with all of the correct emission equipment. I recurved the Distributor and did a slight rejet on the carb and let it go at that. The difference was night and day , the 225 woke up and became an engine with what I would refere to as "adequate plus" for my eventual needs. At present the truck is on it's second clutch and has covered a total of One million two hundred and 85 thousand Kilometers! The Slant is still on the job, by just recieving normal maintenance !
the trans and diff are the original items! This spring it will recieve it's second paint job (with proper rust repair of course) the rust is minimal and limited to the area just above the rear wheels. I used to take out the taillights and wash that area out but even with that,

the rust broke through. The attached pics show the old girl at various times.
