Hi there , I was looking at the topic about the 5.7 valves dropping & valve springs brakeing & roller tappers going flat.the only thing I’ve ran into
Was the hemi tick putting my gibson
Headers on both rear studs on the
Head on both sides were broke after
Putting the headers on in 05 no more tick. Also feel the thermostat temp was to high at 232 degrees put a 180
Degree truck runs a hole lot better ,
I think this added to the problem of
The valve seats just being to hot, note
Bought the truck in 04 new & now with 86k stills runs very well. FYI also
Oil used royal purple , also replaced
The plug wires got rid of the spider web & put 8 mi raceing wires on
Plug to coil / trans put a deeper trans pan 3” for better cooling also synthetic. All fluids are all synthetic.
Also lowered 2” front / 4” in rear all
Djm shocks truck over all performes
Well . & passes smog no problem.
Just some thoughts I’d pass on thanx
Chris.

Welcome from the Mitten, I have yet to see a 5.7 Hemi with a valve seat problem like the 3.7/4.7 engines (I am not saying it doesn't happen I haven't seen it), a couple of broken valve springs over the years, one bad cam/lifter and one with a collapsed lifter (these 2 were both newer 13 and 14)

Welcome. These things were built to run hot and would have been done years ago if not for preignition and a few more determents.
