Lowering a Dodge 1972 to 1993 D150 Without cutting springs using Van Lower Control Arms

It is just kinda a shame, if anyone had any of that today, that guys who like jacked trucks don't just hang with those guys and keep disparaging comments about guys who like dropped, or stock, height trucks to themselves, or hey, not even look at the posts from those other guys. If you haven't...

    Lowering my 97' 1500

I don't know about your year truck, Shorty, but on my '86, I drilled the frame-mounted left spring mounts off the frame, lowered the frame to where I wanted it, and drilled new holes in the frame. It's been a few years since I've done it, but I think I was able to use some of the existing holes...

    Help! It just died!

So my brother is drivng his '05 1500 and it just dies. No wanring, nothing, just goes dead. The dash lights up with a little lightening bolt symbol which the owners manual says is a electronic throttle control. Anyone have experience with this? where is it, what's it cost, etc?

Anyone have a factory service manual for a Ram 50?

Check out mightyram50 website. I am quite sure they have the manuals right there on their site.

Lets see your Dodge trucks! Post some Pic's!

I'll be back there next week, but I don't miss it too much. The growth is just too much for me, I like to be a bit in the country. We were, and then the last year we lived there, BOOM!, they built 600 houses and a school next door. So much for riding all our dirt bikes, shooting off the back...

Lets see your Dodge trucks! Post some Pic's!

I've actually dropped the back of my '86 longbed since those pix were taken. They were in front of my shop in Oklahoma, and I moved my company, and five complete families, lock, stock, and barrel to Kentucky a few years ago. I hadn't moved the spring mount on the frame yet in that picture, I...

Lets see your Dodge trucks! Post some Pic's!

Yeah, it got the dually fenders shortly after this was taken ooutside my shop in Tulsa. A 12 foot tonneau! Yup, that right there'd be pretty costly, especially if I made it! I'm doing a black fiberglass tonneu for my Arrow, and just materials are going to run me close to $500. If I did it in...

Lets see your Dodge trucks! Post some Pic's!

Well, I've posted my lowered longbed, I think, but here's a direct side view of it. It's at the height I want it, but the wheels will go up to 17's when I blow it apart for a complete renewal. I'm also going to round the wheelwells, and I'm building custom inner wheelwells for up front. Also...

Lets see your Dodge trucks! Post some Pic's!

Can I sneak in here with my Plymouth? Or are mini trucks and rebranded imports sacriledge? I do have three other full size Dodges, my Dad's last truck, a '78 3/4 ton long bed, my '86 long bed, and my '87 short bed. But this is what I currently drive every day. It's a 1980 Plymouth Arrow pickup I...

    Lowering my 87 dodge d100

A few shots of my '87 long bed. This was before we moved the spring hangers up on the frame, so the back end is still a bit high. This is not a bagged truck, just custom control arms and shorter coils. In these photos it has Bell Tech spring hangers in the rear, and new, but de-arched, leaf...

    Lowering my 87 dodge d100

74360Duster, I've got 10" wheels on my '86 long bed, and I've got it dropped pretty hard. At least 5" if not more, and although it's close, the tires still don't rub. If it were too close for comfort, you could do what we always did with our drag cars back in the day, and just turn the fender...

    Lowering my 87 dodge d100

Actually, I had my head up my butt when I said you'd need square U bolts, you don't, just standard U bolts will work...

    Lowering my 87 dodge d100

dodge79, RCAddict mentioned using a flip kit part for chevies that will work for the Dodge on the first page of this thread, and it costs about $35-40 bucks. Truth is, however, all you need to do the flip is is get anther set of Mopar spring perches, which you can get from Jeg's or Summit...

    Lowering my 87 dodge d100

All good info here. Sorry I've not been around to participate recently. Busy, busy with work (military aircraft/warfighter support). Anyway, I'm about to get moving again on some of this work, I need a new rear for my '86 longbed, and am looking at a late model rear with discs and an LSD rear in...

    What year hoods

...Had the recesses, before they made the leading edge of the hood stand up like a big, fat flat section so they could put "Dodge" across the front of it? I need a real clean early hood to pull a mold off of so I can do a carbon hood for my two trucks...

    81 slant 6 to a 318 questions

I've got a balanced, blueprinted .100 over 12.5:1 compression ratio /6! It's been ported as well, and is a monster motor that's never been fired up... That said, I'm swaping the /6 out of my little '87 shortbed for a 318/727 combo. Schumacher's got great stuff, but this is a direct factory bolt...

    Aftermarket parts mess

I've always tried to stay pure Mopar too, and use Mancini a lot. However, with one of my current trucks ( a 360/904 combo) Plymouth Arrow pickup, I went to Lokar for the throttle pedal, cable, and kickdown linkages. They work great, and are more elegant than the factory parts.

    Lowering my 87 dodge d100

No, I didn't need to "C" notch the frame, and I still have plenty of clearence. I'll try to take some pix of it soon and post them here. I put new leaf springs on it, de-arched a bit. I've got Chisholm lower control arms on it right now, which drop it 2", but I don't like the way it changes the...
