Last six digits of VIN - how to decode that?

When i looked up my Polara, i googled a site that gives details on decoding Mopar fender tags. What i recall of the tag, those digits match up to sequence number, meaning the order of the model run produced off that line. The other 6-digit number is order number, meaning the dealer or customer...

    1-ton VS 1/2 ton conversion?

Probably would leave the 1-ton as-is, other than a gear swap. My '78 D-350 had a gear that started with a 4, only thing i would do different would have been one starting with a 3.....

How to do accurate insurance valuation on limited edition truck?

Agreed. Did the same thing with my Cordoba, just did some research on what models like mine were going for around the country, went with average price depending on condition and how much money i had put into it to update, basically what it would cost to replace my car with a like car. i also go...

    Reviving an 87 D150

i left a post in your Welcome thread, but will also post here.... easy enough to pop the engine out. If you're not interested in removing the front clip as 7mopar does, it's just as easy to use a hoist. 4 hood bolts, hood off. Take the bellhousing plate off under the trans bellhousing, 4 bolts...

    Wood burning stove problems

What Volunteer said. Except i would suggest an air inlet from the outside directly attached to the stove, possibly a 3/8" air pipe drawing outside air to the barrel directly attached to the stove. Otherwise an adjustable room air inlet (like a vane where you can control amount of airflow) just...

    It is starting

PS pump sounds like a re-man. Have that problem here, same parts float around, so they all get built multiple times and you get in a rut with the same junk time after time. Will have the truck out next week, have an appt. at the VA on Wed. Meantime, it's gonna be single digits tonight, but...

    New to truck forum

Thanks folks. Might update the top end, looking forward to when i can have time to tote the RV around here and there, just need a little more oomph. Until then, not putting too many miles on.....

    First time truck owner - '87 D150

i hear you on keeping the carb, i'm doing that myself primarily to eliminate any need for computer control. As to what you said about coolant around and out of the area of the exhaust manifold, that could be a result of the freeze-out plug itself, if it was corroded. At temerature under...

    Finally found one

Actually i believe the hoods are interchancheable. The only difference is the outer skin unless i am mistaken. To be honest, it looks exactly like the contours of the hood on my '85... Either way, that truck is beautiful.

    New to me 79

Great ride. Years ago, i started restoring a '78 D-350 i was driving as my tow vehicle (i was a contractor/full time RV'er at the time with a 5th wheel trailer) but i was in Vegas at the time when the floods hit. Lost it, AND the 5th-wheel. i miss that truck. Welcome in, and if i could ask you...

    New to truck forum

Not new to the Mopar forums (B-body, C-body owner) but scored a great '85 W-150 Prospector Jan of 19 and just found this forum. Glad to be here and yes, i LOVE my truck. Currently at 72xxx original miles, 318-2v, original paint. Survivor truck from MD traded in by son after handed down from his...
