I had them go from .030 to .060 over to clean up some scratches and had them hot tank it while it was there. Since there was no assembly needed I think it got bumped up.

Machine shop finished up a lil earlier than planned so I got to pick up block early this week. Didn't really want to jump in on cutting up that cowling yet, instead I shot some paint.

Ha, fun wasn't the word I first thought of. I have a plan...truck is an old heating and cooling truck and the rust is an air vent so... might just cut out the bad and bend up some sheetmetal into a nice stiff piece of ductwork and weld it in nice and tight. Not going for factory, but a truck...

Wow what a good summer. Had to step back from this project during the summer, having too much fun to stay home. Started back at it though last week. Dropped block off at machine shop for a hot bath and a cylinder shave. Said they were 6 weeks out, ouch. I should of brought it in April to MS when...

Not yet, I think I’ll round over the hump about 1/4” from outlet of pump. Cast is a lil thin there but I got enough to round the edge. I didn’t really want to open hole on pump to match gasket just to neck down again after it gets in block. Thinking no flat or sharp edges for oil to be pushed into.

Got the block cleaned last weekend. Took forever but looks good. Used a couple wire brushes razors and ol toothbrushes. Made excellent use of old two stroke gas that was no good for solvent too. So far 0 $

Noticed some rough spots in bowl and an edge under the valve seals, wacked them off too int the grinder frenzy. Funny how much casting slag is blocking the water jacket holes. Wacked them open too

Thanks. Yeah I got good help, since school is out they are getting shop class with Dad. They think its cool to work on their own truck. And the car is just family fun. I built the 360 in it and is pretty peppy. It is a 71 Scamp with tons of changes to become a "real" hot rod.

Yup they got that bug already, they like to go fast. Luckily the wife caught it from her dad long ago so it is good family time in the shop:)
