I need to replace the main, plastic fuel tank on my 1978 D-300

The original under-the-bed main tank was made from plastic, is broken and can't be repaired, and the plastic tank is NLA. A member on another forum told me that some people have installed Ramcharger or Mustang tanks at the rear of the frame instead. Could anybody explain how to do this, or maybe...

2004 Ram lower fuel tank in a '78 model?

Of course my '78 uses neither a fuel pressure regulator nor an in-tank fuel pump, so it would be my intention to eliminate them. Any reason why I couldn't??

2004 Ram lower fuel tank in a '78 model?

I have a '78 D-300 on which the lower, plastic fuel tank (the long, skinny one on the driver's side, between the frame and the driveshaft) is toast and NLA. The other day I was under a 2004 Ram 2500 and noticed that the lower fuel tank looks somewhat similar to my old, leaking one. Would...

Need replacement fuel tank for '78 D-series

No, I am talking about replacing the standard tank under the bed. The OE tank was plastic, and I'd like to replace it but it's NLA. The in-cab tank is steel, but not terribly large. I think maybe a reproduction Ford pickup tank would work...

Need replacement fuel tank for '78 D-series

Muskote, I emailed LMC. They don't have a replacement tank, and aren't aware of a source for one. I guess I will have to have a steel tank made, if I decide that I care about it that much. In a D-300 dually with a 440, your cruising range is somewhat limited with the tank behind the seat.

Need replacement fuel tank for '78 D-series

The inboard, main plastic gas tank on my '78 D300 is toast. I've tried to fix tanks like this several different ways, and all have failed, so I would like to find a steel replacement tank. Is such a tank available? Please edumacate me. Thanks a lot.

What is the plating on Dodge HD truck lug nuts?

I have a pretty cherry 1978 D300 on which the original Budd light truck 16.5"-diameter wheels have been nicely powder-coated. The wheels are lookin' good, but the plated lug nuts are tarnished. I'd like to polish them, but before doing so I need to identify the type of plating. It looks...

WANTED Dodge van door scuff plate or pad, driver's side

This is a tough one, and maybe I am just SOL, but when you guys see an older Dodge van or motor home at the wrecking yard, check to see if it has a decent driver's door rubber scuff pad, will you? Thanks very much. I'll pay anything reasonable. In case you care, I think the part number is...

How to set lower limit of window travel on a '78 D-series truck?

Doh! When I took it apart I found that the problem was a broken roller on the regulator arm. Now there are threads on other sites about how to repair a regulator on newer Dodge trucks by using a roller from the hardware store, drilling out the stud and using a bolt instead, but since I was not...

How to set lower limit of window travel on a '78 D-series truck?

Where is the adjustment for the lower travel limit on the side windows; i.e., to prevent the window from going down too far into the door? Here's a picture from the FSM:

Introducing FTO's Newest Member: Bill Crowell

I have always been a Mopar guy. I have owned my 1978 D-300 Adventurer SE dually since it was new. I know how to fix almost everything on it, but sometimes I run into problems I can't figure out, and in such a case I would like to be able to ask you guys for advice. Thanks in advance. Location...
