I think the lead solider is frond up by the EPA. Guess they think lead poisoning is a real thing. I haven't every tried it.
Slave cylinders are best bleed sometimes by reverse pressure bleeding. I have even had some luck vacuum bleeding for the slave.
Master and slave are hydraulic, fluids don't make creaking noises.
Not sure about this newer stuff, but the older forks could be removed for servicing without removing the transmission. If it is a high-pitched squeak, it could be the clutch release bearing.

Have you tried cleaning the player head? Or demagnetizing it? Sounds like it knows something has been installed, just doesn't know what to do with it. So it gets ejected.
