That was my first thoughts too. But then there's the time spent with disassembly, storage of the parts, and then of course......what the heck am I ever going to do with that drivetrain? I'm at the age where my "project days" are over I'm afraid. And all I have are big blocks, no small block...
Have a 87 D250 that caught fire and destroyed most of the cab & dash. Some underhood damage as well. This truck has a 360 4 barrel with an automatic transmission. I'm pretty sure the rear is a Dana 60. Question is, is it worth messing with salvaging any parts? The 360-4 has me wondering if...
Yeah, same here. About 4-5" of that white "four letter" word overnight and early this morning. Been doing the shoveling, now its time to get the plow out and get at the driveways. Did I mention that I "hate" winter?
Yeah, I don't like that either. But around here, one always comes with the other. 30-40 years ago I would be out playing/working in the snow, but not anymore if I can help it.
I'll have to amend my first post, it almost certainly has to be a 1940 model. In 1941 the headlamps were moved to the CENTER of the front fenders and mounted in "pockets" formed in the top of the fenders. This truck does NOT have that, the headlamps are more on the INSIDE of the front fenders...
Not a '30's truck. You've got more like a 1941 thru 1947 Dodge truck. My first impression when looking at it was a '46, but several different years are almost identical so its hard to tell from a couple photos.
Cycle the ignition key on/off, on/off, on/off three times within 10-15 seconds and it will display any codes that have been set, on the odometer display. (Do not crank the engine, just go to ignition ON position and back to OFF 3 times).
Not sure if it will display ABS codes or not, but I know...
You didn't say how FAR you wanted to pull that 28' trailer.
A couple hundred YARDS, or a couple hundred thousand miles? From the engines you mentioned, I'd guess you don't want to go very far.
Just an FYI, that hood appears to be for a "B" series Dodge pickup. These were produced from 1948 to 1953 before the redesign and sheet metal change in 1954. So to summarize, I believe your hood will fit any '48 through '53 "B" series. Don't think they changed during those years. Hope this...
