Yea! Its been slow here, use to see new post every day. I try checking in a couple of times a week. Often stuff of no interest or plan craziness.
I have done some crazy things, but always had a reasonable spending limit.
Finding a full floater that fit's and buying wheels that you like would make way more since to me. You can get disk brakes for them now also. You might end up with a little more sprung weight but would end up with a lot stronger rear axle.
Empty parking lots are fun until they kick you out. Still private property, has something to do with insurance.
Looks like I maybe stuck here this winter. Preparing for cold weather will be fun. Not really. Wind breaks are being planned. May buy a diesel heater or two before the winter is over...
But the flat doesn't retain water that freezes into ice. That likes to thaw and take windshelds out at highway speeds. There are ways to manicure a flat hood if flat is that anoying.
Everything on the end of the axle housing must go. Axles, drums, spools and brakes all need to be changed. If the eight lug axle is single wheel 3/4 ton it maybe cheaper to just find matching wheels. Depending on what housing your trying to replace some parts may interchange some may not. If you...
LMC list 78-86 @ $41.95
87-93@ $94.95
So is $53.00 the only difference?
Couldn't find a listing for the wing glass it's self. But the door glass list the same from 73-93. Window channel kits changed between 79&80.
Someone should know what the wing seal change is at LMC as that...
Going to check and see what we can find. I knew there was a different in the radiator core supports.
For size of seal we were not aware the glass changed. Could be the seal shape changed.
Why people have to take apart what works. Have seen way to many wire harness chopped up for sake of stereo equipment. Best to understand how system work unless willing to start from scratch. Good luck with your rewire.
What type of manual do you have? I don't suppose Painless provide anything but wires. Does the harness even have wire ends, fuse box and bulk head connection. I have never worked with Painless products. I just noticed the Painless universe harness. What vehicle is this universal ment for?
Sorry...
Second mechanical pump on the 89 360. Pressure was fine sitting still @ 4psi when moving would drop to 0 on start-up then level at 2 psi. This was originally a. Efi engine.
Follow wasn't keeping up to make the carb function. Constant 3400 rpm at 60ph likely not helping. 8mpg max haven't checked...
I ditched the mechanical pump on the D350 a year ago and wished it had been done earlier. With the mechanical pump fuel delivery wasn't keeping up, engine was falling flat and mpg was terrible.
Ditch the mechanical pump and install a single regulator with bypass and a fuel switch valve to put on the return line. Use the pumps on the tanks.
Some of the Dakota's had adjustable regulators on the fuel rail with return line to the tank. Number of ways to do it depending on what's available.
Since you bumped this. Behind the axle tanks where also found on trucks with axillaries. Rear tank also frees up the spot on the other side of the drive shaft for exhaust if its not wanted all on one side.
Those rear tanks were usually 36 gallons.
