I'm thinking the 79 CS is for stacked quads? Don't see why you couldn't do it.....been a very long time since doing stuff like that. I put a 78 Trailduster grill in a 74 in around 78 and it was a drop in thing.

This 79 is the 2 headlight one.
The ctr to ctr is different and the buckets stick out more.
I was surprised it wasn't a bolt in deal

Well, that's a new one on me! Kinda odd that the centers have a different spacing after all those years. I remember laying the Trailduster grille in my 74 to check the fit and was a bit surprised that it fit so good.

I haven’t done it myself, but I’ve seen others move the headlight buckets when they can’t find a core support. It can work if you measure everything right and make sure the lights sit straight. You might need to drill new holes or make some small brackets to hold them in place.

Just take your time lining them up so the headlights aim right and look good. It’s not perfect, but it can get the job done if you're stuck.
