I have a 318 la hooked to the 4 speed manual and cannot figure out this connection. I bent the throttle cable adapter to accommodate the 4 barrel and put the GM to molar edelbrock conversion arm on and still don't understand how it goes on.

Thank you, I never knew I was missing that as it was never there in the first place!😂 however I did double check the bag of goodies that came with the carb, discovering what I thought I may not have recognized as the pin. It can screw in on the arm OR the eye of the throttle cable, but the head of the pin is far too big to fit in either of the sides and can thread to. Pictures attached to help. I haven't got a single good piece of luck this whole project.

Make some brackets that work. Them throw all the carburetor extras back in the bag.
What you are doing will work but it will prematurely wear on the throttle shaft. Get that cable much closer to the carb body and things will work much better. If you have to find a carb cable base plate.

The adapter bracket is on correctly. You need the Mopar stud (or equivalent) for that large hole to attach the cable. Pull from the inside of that bracket rather than the outside where the ball stud is mounted.
Forget the ball stud completely. It's too low and likely to cause high pedal effort.

really want to take the time to thank you guys individually but I'm so appreciative of you guys sharing your knowledge, I'd be writing all night. Hats of to you guys for making a piece on this intake/carb simple!
