Those torrents are decent to drive, comfortable size. But not a whole lot of fun to work on.
heater core, like most new vehicles are not easy to replace.
next go round, i will get customer to sign off on warranty and cut the tubes, it comes out without having to pull entire dash.

the slant 6 conversion hasbeen done successfully, guys on p15-d24.com have covered it. But its a difficult site to navigate.
I have a 51 fargo,1/2 ton and am sticking with the point ignition, with truck on 12 volts it starts quick and runs well...
Just did this on a hhr. Kit supplied a forstner bits and screws. Cut the melted plastic part and install handle with screws. Hokey at best. Not much for a 3/8 long screw to bite into.

im happy with my point ignition, works very well for me.
Im thinking any 727 with a lockup will work. The cases are the same. Did you talk to the rebuilder, maybe they have one? A couple hours to gut yours and put parts into fresh case.
I have considered this since i was in my 20’s. 30 years later im still thinking how i could make it viable. Insurance and getting financing are two big hurdles. 20 stalls and a certified technician are the minimum requirement.

If you are in the salt belt, like me- i wouldnt waste my time or money on a p/s cooler. Just more places to fail. I have removed a few, makes no difference whatsoever.
I can see it in hotter climates being necessary.

The engine in my 80 is from a tbi van,87 if i recall. Never noticed it was a roller when i dropped intake on. Any way to check with an assembled engine? Likely not. Even with a borescope.....

RCC until the owner sold it off. Just didnt seem the same.
