10-4 - I did the same for a few years and yes with the 408 I would go thru the trouble of getting the exhaust done. As for a "kit" I would say you are highly over estimating the size of the marketplace.

That is a correct bed - they were painted from the factory the same color as the truck AND the wood in the floor was actually pine so most rotted out within a few years and you have what we you normally see today - nice clear coated oak beds with painted or polished ss strips
