So l installed a complete magnum 5.9 into my 1977 power wagon/fuel injection/ PCM the whole setup from a 2001 donor truck.
I used the 726 trans that was in the truck originally and it runs great and has a lot more power
The problem I am experiencing is I can’t find any information on how to get...
I did check for codes, only had a few Evap codes nothing that would have stopped it from running.
I did fix the truck but have decided to type this out so the next person can chace the problem down as I had to.
I had back probed the wires going to the PCM for the cam and crank sensors and...
I am working with a 01 Dodge 1500 fuel tank sending unit, and with about a 1/4 of a tank I am reading 95 OHMs.
I don't know if this is correct or what the gauge should read at empty and then at full.
Does anyone know where to get this information or might simply know it.
Mike
I have been doing testing so here is what I have, it still won't run.
I have back probed the PCM for the crank and cam sensors and I get a flashing 5 volts, And I have a ground to all the sensors. so I am leaning towards the PCM. It is getting everything I can think off to run but won't.
I have...
I have a 2001 5.9 I put into a 78 w300. motor ran fine in the donor truck before removing it.
I have wired it all up but I am missing something. when it was first installed it ran about 30 seconds before dyeing. I have followed the instructions that Jamie has used on the dead dodge site.
I am...
So I am doing a magnum 5.9 swap in my 77 dually.
I was doing a dry fit on the floor and found out the original torque converter is too big to fit in the flexplate of the magnum! I have to keep that flexplate due to the crank sensor on the magnum engine. Everything I see on line they are supposed...
well I don't know for sure on the trans code is I haven't been under the truck in a few minutes. But the research I have done is the 12 inch and the 11 inch clutch do not match with the number of splines and the size of the shaft, I have not been able to find a 12 inch clutch that matches the...
yes I am , leaving the magnum stock. I did find out it was a crank sensor, which is what I thought. I really want to keep the trans, so I can use the grannie gear when I need it. and living here in Alaska I use it all the time.
so plan A is to purchase a 2001 flywheel which takes a 12 inch...
I am working on a 5.9 magnum engine swap into my 77 dually with a 4 speed. And I have a few questions for the guys who have done the swap before. first question is I am guessing I need to use the original clutch flywheel. 2) pilot bearing, which one should I use, I am guessing again I need to...
So, I have done a few things to help with my testing process. long story short the sending unit in the tank has issues but I have not gotten to it and replaced it.
I measured the ohms, before I filled it and it had about 40 ohms. I started to fill it and noticed that the ohms nor the gauge was...
At this point I need to run this truck down to the gas station and fill it up and watch what happens, so until then I will let you all know as soon as I get the answer.
and as far as cutting the wire, dude if you saw the rats nest under the hood and this truck you won't be too concerned about...
I installed the aftermarket gauge with a different 12 volt ignition source and the gauge is also grounded
I cut the wire (blue )going to the cluster and ran it directly to the aftermarket gauge
I have to check my fuel and see where the level is right now
I believe it’s 3/4 tank but maybe it...
Sorry guys had other issues come up,
So the link below is the aftermarket gauge I installed. it is suppose to read 73 ohms when empty and 10 ohms when full. which I believe is backwards from what I learned here on this forum. I could not find a gauge that read the other way and a few of the...
I see a bunch of people have swapped in a magnum motor in to the older dodges, But has anyone done the complete swap with the trans and transfer case.
I can't seem to find anyone who has. I would like to make this a daily driver, with the smoother shifts and overdrive feature.
I have a...
