Hey everyone, I'm trying to get a new front bumper for my 84 d150, can't find any reproductions for an 84, but 86-93 have repo's, am I able to put that on the truck without noticing it's the wrong bumper or does the brackets line up?
Yeah , That's what I was trying to say . Thanks 7Mopar .From my experiences the brackets bolted to the frame OK but mounted to the bumper different.
I know I've got a couple of front bumper's but I can't remember what year's they are . I know which one is supposed to be on your truck but post a picture of yours just in case someone changed it before you got it and then I'll check to see if I've got the same style that your looking for .
Almost every Dodge from that era that I see has a bent bumper. My bumper is all bent up from a accident
Oh yeah I know the middle is meant to be bent, but both sides are messed up from cars running into it lol. Can't really see it in the pictures either, but towards the end it's bent out more from us trying to unbend itAlmost every Dodge from that era that I see has a bent bumper.
I tried awhile ago, and it wouldn't budge, ended up balding my front tires in one spot. We had a really nice unbent bumper that still had a nice chrome on it, but that was destroyed in the last wreck the truck was in. This bumper that is on the truck now is factory bumper, its losing chrome also so thats why I was just trying to find a new one on ebay. Chrome shops in Las Vegas aren't as good as they use to be and to ship it out and have it rechromed would be more than just buying a new lol.You need to pull it from the bottom corner. Another wards it needs to be twisted straight. It may take a few pulls to get it right, definitely try not to go to far with it. I donot have any pictures but have straightened much worse.
This was almost two years ago, my dad and I pulled everything off and straightened up the radiator support the frame was ok. We replaced the fender, hood, put our original outer grill back on and our original bumper, drove around for a year without a headlight bezel though cause they were so hard to find lol. My dad passed away a couple months after his accident and I finally got the truck done besides the bumper.Surprised that did not get into the frame. If it has do you have a good frame shop to get it all pulled back into shape before parts are removed? Check in particular where the steering box mounts. Once bent that part of the frame is hard to keep in place without adding bracing.
