Ok, I didn't have large enough allen wrench to pull the oil plugs and figured I would leave it to the machine shop. I did find, by more looking, another rod on the opposite side from the oil pump it slid easily up and down but would not come out because of the plug. I hadn't tried to hold it up...

thanks everyone for the suggestions. I did get the oil pump off, and it was put on with thread lock or something that won't come off. I have a long bolt in the front of the cam, but it still won't budge I think I need a slide hammer.

Ok soft plugs out, oil pump off. still can't see anything holding cam. Intermediate shaft,the one with the gear on it?? out. what else????

Ok the 440 is on the stand,block is stripped except for oil pump,which is unbolted but stuck on with what I don't know. the crank and pistons are out need to pull soft plugs and oil plugs. get ready,,,,,, How do I break the cam loose to pull it or what is holding it in gears are off etc . this...
