Hey guys any thoughts on this one.Got truck running well but after its warm when I shut it off and let it sit for 10 minutes or longer, really labors when turning over or wont turn over just stops. Too much timing or bad solenoid?

What's your initial timing set at? Too much advanced timing will dog your starter when trying to start it...really does it when the motor is hot.

Just set timing today ,10 degrees advanced we'll see how it reacts. Motor is an 86 350 out of a camaro so troubleshooting can be problematic at times. Only does it when it's hot and after it sits for a few minutes. If turn it over right after shutting off its ok. Don't shut it off.

Do you know what it was before...bucking the starter will start to happen about 20 BTDC.

Not sure. When I checked it couldn't even see the mark in relation to the pointer. Had to have been off by quite a bit. Didn't sound bad though. Any idea what it should be at? Seems a little down on power. Just trial and error right now.

Depends what's in your distributor...inch it up a degree at a time. 13 to 15 degrees BTDC.
