The truck is 1980, slant six 4spdOD, planning to keep original mechanically and do a custom paint and interior with a Honey Bee theme.

I like it! Keep us updated!

Still under construction. Busy with work and not as much progress as I had hoped. I did find a tailgate for it on CL off a 90 3/4ton. It doesn't seem to fit well. I have the donor motor on the engine stand and cleaned for painting.

Been thinking about the paint scheme. How's this?

Add a 12" white stripe with the Honey Bee at the back of the bed centered between the wheel and bumper.

That and I believe the latches are wrong.

Paint scheme will be awesome

I needed an excuse to sit down at the computer after mowing the lawn....and the Honeybee won!

Little update; got the engine swap done and filled the oil last Sunday. Went out today to put the belts and hoses on and fire it up and noticed a big puddle of new oil under it. There are three pinholes in the bottom of the oil pan. Anybody have a truck slant six oil pan laying around? Also need a right rear taillight lens, my daughter and I backed it into the tree.

ah! That sucks! I'll keep a lookout for you

I don't have any slant six stuff but I do have a pair of "clean" tail light lens . Quick question , can you weld up the oil pan ? If your interested in the "pair" feel free to give me a shout at myoldparts@hotmail.com and I'll shout you a picture of them.

Welded on the oil pan for two days. Every hole plugged created two more. I finally got it down to one small seep so I coated the bottom outside with Evercoat seam sealer and let it dry for three days. I got a couple lines on replacement pans, I don't expect that fix to last very long.

I put all fluids in this afternoon and fired it up and drove it around the neighborhood, runs good but needs some tweaking. The throttle doesn't have enough travel with the Holly carb and the clutch is way out at the top of the peddle.

I putted around Peyton in October 2012. Was your truck on the road at that time or is it visible from the street? Maybe it's just my imagination, but I seem to remember seeing it or some other similiar old Dodge. I could very well be wrong, but just one of those vague recollections one has when they caually see things they aren't intentionally looking at.

Hmm, "my daughter and I backed into a tree". That's the great thing about kids, whether they are driving or simply riding along, you can always blame the kids when the wife or your buddy notices new damage. I've found it has always worked for me. Or deer, when you're off in the ditch you can always blame it on the deer that jumped out in front of you. Ha!

Yes it was sitting in the same spot for about 5 years clearly visible from Murr road. The taillight thing was a joint effort. She was pushing and I was steering along with pushing. I quit pushing because I saw the tree was on line but she kept on pushing.

Was just looking and noticed the bed is from a newer 81-93 Ram. The body line above the rear wheel well is thinner than the front wheel arch.
