yes. we just did it. take 16 inches out of frame behind rear cab mount, on flat area of frame. take 16 inches out of same place on other side. then take 4 inches off rear of frame. keep in mind that none of bed mounting bolts will now line up, nor the rear bumper bracket holes. you will also have to make new front gas tank mount and watch which tank you use. short bed frames are drying up and real expensive. easy alternative.
went to junk yard today and picking parts off 83 sb 4x4. it has pretty well been picked over. going to buy the 9.25 rear axle but before they cut it out, i will try to buy frame w/frt and rear axles. will see what happens. fb is full of sb that guys are trying to flip for big money.
