1986 Dodge D-250 Custom 2 wheel drive long wide bed. Factory 360 4bbl 4-speed, 4.10 Dana rear. Power steering, power brakes, air conditioning (no compressor). Just the basics with no frills. It's big, its brown, its bent up and its bad. The original tired 360 was pulled out, bored .030 and hone fitted with new forged pistons, fresh 10/10 crank, resized rods, new 284/484 cam and lifters, completely rebuilt set of J heads with new valves/guides/seats/springs. Weiand dual plane intake with Holley 4150 electric choke carb. Hooker headers feeding a pair of Flowmaster mufflers. Granny first gear 4 speed has been gone through, surfaced flywheel and new clutch. All new sending units on engine, new water pump and hoses. Excellent oil pressure and runs cool at any speed. A mechanically fresh drivetrain with only a few hundred miles. Brand new Cooper Discoverer 16" mud&snow on the rear. Comes with a factory 8 hole spare and tire tool in the bed.
Honestly, I dont think there is a single panel on this truck that doesnt have at least one dent in it. Only rust anywhere is in the bed floor from crap sitting in it in the weather. The bumpers are both well seasoned, yet the tailgate shuts with one finger and the grill is not broken (now has an 84 grille). You wont be afraid of getting out in the trees fetching firewood with this one. Its set up to pull just about any load you want to put on it, or pull barns down if need be. Interior is very basic and has carpet that probably looks like its out of that place you moved into when you first left Mom and Dads. Dont get me wrong, its new carpet, its installed permanently and it doesnt smell like your first place did. All the gauges work, all the lights work and the truck is fully street legal. Dont need any excuses to get pulled over.
Would make a great work truck, pull truck for that 5th wheel or gooseneck, wood hauler, iron truck, first car for that kid that just doesnt have his poop in a scoop. Use it for a beater until you can get that 6 cylinder out of your A body, then put the truck engine in it one weekend. This truck may be a bit battered but there is nothing that shows that it has ever been crashed hard anywhere. Its just been used for what it was built for all its life--workhorse. Nothing there that cant be fixed or rubbed into submission. Drive it anywhere you want and not worry about where you are going to park. Watch people in new cars freak out when you pull in beside them to park. Dont worry about garage space because it dont need no stinkin' garage--this truck lives outside like a bad dog.
