Just what make the 5.4L 2 valve engine so valuable? 99 to 2001

All the modern engine are quite pricey, 2v's aren't near as bad as the 3v's. Used or reman? Reman's are more than the typical pushrod engines because of the overhead cams and extra parts

Been trying to find a reasonably mileage used engine. Would not think that is unrealistic. So far rebuilding what I have appears to be the conceivable option.
But it is redicules when an entire running vehicle can be bought for less than the price of an engine.
