Stop on in for a cup of coffee!

I'm relaxing this morning on my second cup doing a little reflecting on the weekend.
I was on the run yesterday taking my grandson to Cedar Falls to see his mom and her family. While not uncomfortable it's not the way it would like to spend my day, but the look on the boys face all day was priceless. It was all about him with HIS family. Last night I had a lanky 8 year old boy trying to sit on my lap like he did when he was two getting some love from papa.

The things we do for love.

Time for that third cup, you all have a great day. ...

Having a late night cup of pp with extra Lactose to kill the caffeine.

Tomorrow a contractor comes over and starts tearing out the bathroom. Getting a new tub, surround, toilet, vanity, sink and all the fixtures.

I thought I had my kid trained, I got up this morning and coffee and filter ready. So I turned on the machine, he didn't put any water in I discovered after a few minutes of no coffee. I filled it and soon had some to drink.

Fall is starting and so many things to do before winter.

Had 2 cups this morning and then fixed the exhaust on my kids car. Then we finished repairs to his CR 125 we started last night only to have a epic fail. A previous owner tapped out the head bolts to a larger size and now one of them has pulled the threads. So now the cylinder has to come back off and I will heil coil the threads back to the factory thread. I may put studs in instead of bolts.

Ugh, that sucks, sporty! I had my Fufu and came to work. But I got to head up to the cities this morning! Drove two and a half hours, dropped Laura off at her doctors appointment and headed into downtown Minneapolis for my eye appointment. First time back to my regular eye doctor since my surgery. Had positive news, my left eye was at 8 and my right eye was at 16. Two months ago my right eye was at 25, the upper end of the surgeons comfort scale. It wasn't even the eye that had the surgery. But it's down now, and both I'm glad it's where it is, and so is my doctor, I do have a little dryness that I have to take some natural tears and put an ointment in my eye when I sleep. No biggie, I'll be back in a month to check how that heals. My eye is red all the time, I've gotten quite a few comments about it. And it's droopy, oh well. I can see, and that's what counts.

Show season is winding down, might get to that last roll in if I take a couple hours vacation. Otherwise it's fix the little shit until I have to park them. I still need to get to my storage unit and move a car so we can put down that gravel that's been sitting all summer.

A cup to start the day yesterday, took my youngest to pickup a amp and plasma tv we got off a auction site, had a cup of cappuccino while driving.
Put heli coils and studs in his bike jug, went to a friend's and connected his electric to his shed, went to another friends and did rear brakes on his Enclave.
Came home and started to put the bike together, put a caliper on another friends Flex, then finally sat down for dinner around 8, busy day.

Thanks for making me feel lazy! I packed up the camper, hooked the truck to it, and drive it home. Backing it in the driveway must have been fun for the neighbors to watch, a minivan was in my preferred approach area, and I'm to stubborn to ask anyone to move their vehicle. So I looked like a rookie all over again. Mirrors will be bought before next year! One of the next door neighbors have me some help. Can't wait til I can build my shop, then I won't have to deal with cars in the street, or neighbors! Last Fufu was on Friday, must've been good to keep me going over the weekend!

For some reason I'm falling back into my work routine of bed by 9 and up by 430 or so. So I'm sitting here having a cup of coffee thinking I need to be out in the garage making use of this time. There was a time when 6am to 8am was the most productive time of the day because nobody knew I was at the shop. I didn't answer the phone or the door just worked with no interruptions. At 8 the employees opened the doors and turned on the phones. Now that I'm retired I miss those days but at the time they drove me crazy.

Don't feel to bad, I didn't do a thing Sunday but hang with some friends.

Started Saturday with a nice large cup, ran a new brake line on the kids car, went to the in laws and fixed 2 faucets then checked out looked at his tiller to order parts. Came home and then put a heater core in the kids car.

It was leaking just a little bit.

Today I went to church in the morning, had lunch, then I went to a friend's and burned up 150 rounds of 9mm. Lots of fun.

Haha, another toolmanmike Mega thread. Already halfway through my coffee this morning :arghh: maybe a double day .

2 cups in and pulled the fuel tank on my daily for a pump and repair a leak. The tank is plastic with a metal retaining ring and metal tabs. The tabs were rotted off and half of the ring was rotted away.
New pump, new ring and screwed the ring to the plastic tank. We did this on a customers Colorado and it worked great. Time will tell

I had my cheap Fufu, only $1 on Mondays! Then I went to the bank to get upset with Wells Fargo and their BS, after going to the post office only to find out USPS is now the most expensive game in town. They changed the way they charge Jan 1, and it sucks. My big empty box gets charged for what it could hold, weight-wise. Doesn't make sense to pay $42.00 for $40 worth of plastic models. UPS is now the price leader. More cheap Fufu before work, might have to grab a couple at that price!

I was suppose to head over to the body shop to check on my 67 Charger after my morning coffee (fresh ground Sumatran), but I decided to tinker with the truck instead, just checking the bodily fluids etc. Mixed up some 2-cycle oil with Lucas fuel treatment, and dumped it in the tank. Then I filled it up with diesel and headed off to work.

Had a cup at home, moved 2 tables for my In-laws and had a cup while waiting for my nephew. Then I went and took down a tree with a friend of mine, big tree, but it came down really good. We made do with his backhoe. I would really loved to have had a bucket truck.

All this talk of work and coffee is making me want one now...and I have work to do. Monday morning here - Public Holiday for Labour Day.....have my bi-monthly taxes to file by tomorrow night, and a trailer load of trash to dump tomorrow morning. I might even get a run to the scrap Dealer with a bunch of old cable I've been saving up......Christmas money :D

Coffee break time.....mmmmm Moccona. :)
