My apologies if this is basic knowledge. If there is a better place to find the info, feel free to point that out. I've googled and gotten the usual "Well I did this" scenarios so now I'm looking for something a little more reasoned out.
Recently my drivers side headlight went out. I replaced both of them and they both worked afterwards. My truck has the single bulb hi/lo units which surprised the parts guy.
They worked for a while, then last week I noticed they were both out. I could flip the high beam lever and the dash light would indicate hi beam status, but not lights, hi or low.
Went out and checked the fuses. Pulled J06 as I believe that's the headlight fuse, it was good, put it back, now the lights don't work AND the indicator for ho/low doesn't light up.
From what I've read, it appears on the inside of the TIPM, there are relays that are soldered to the board and not socket-ed like the exposed relays up top. What I've read indicates the relay for the headlights might be toast.
I guess the biggest question is what wires to I test to see if it's the TIPM, relay, etc? As easy as that thing appears to be to replace, I'd rather not guess.
If it helps, in the last couple of months I've also lost the TPS status on two of the tires. I've not had that looked at and the only code I've seen is P0585 which I believe calls out holding two buttons down longer 450ms on the cruise control.
Any suggestions to diagnosing this correctly would be great.
Also, I've not tried the "reset" by touching the battery cables together (after removing)
Thanks!
