Dads ol dodge

Honestly don't fill it often. It only gets driven when needed and I don't like the extra fuel setting in the tank. All though I have not lost any fuel since the next door neighbor moved out.

I didn't see a 22 gallon option but there is a 20? I'll just fill it up with water and see.
If you're going to replace the sending unit, why not take it out and match it at a parts store? Ha e them get both in and see what one you need. As long as it isn't a NAPA special order BS deal, you won't be out a dime for the one you don't need. I tried a quick search but didn't get anything conclusive.

Patching the bed up is DONE! Someone had drilled holes all over the top of the bed rails too so those are all welded shut now... this heavy copper bar just keeps coming in handy lol

Also had the 600 Holley given to me, all rebuilt and ready to go.

Spent the afternoon sanding and blasting until all the rust was gone then sealed it in epoxy. More bodywork to come but nearly done.

Last weekend I stripped both doors, pulled some dents and started the bodywork. Needing a break from the bodywork I decided to start installing loose parts that I've been tripping over, power steering pump and brackets, alt brackets, throttle linkage, coil bracket, etc all went in the blasting cabinet them painted and installed. Also put new universal's in the driveshaft and got it in as well... nothing huge but that's just less parts to worry about loosing now. Air filter is temporary until I find a 4 barrel cleaner.

That tub on the cab floor really looked out of place threw the firewall hole. Like how did he get that reflection there.

Didn't even notice it but your right, it does look like a reflection at first.

Hit it hard for 2 weekends with some help and got everything except the fenders and 1 door down to the final stages of priming. Fenders are chemically stripped and ready to start, look really good but will get some rust treatment.

Wanting everything buttoned up on the chassis before the cab and bed are permanently mounted I decided to get the tank ready and this is what I found. Pretty bad but thank goodness for a plastic tank.

Looks like you have the option of 20 or 30 gallons when buying a new unit so dad filled it one five gallon bucket at a time, it's a 20. The plan is to finish the bodywork, pull the cab and bed them install tank, exhaust and button everything else up, with any luck I won't be crawling back under it.

Definitely the worst fuel pump I've seen
I'm not sure if it was like this when it was still running or if it got that bad from sitting a few years? It did have some kind of waxy stuff packed around the top so I'm assuming it was already leaking before I tore the truck apart.

A few changes in the plans, I can't bring myself to spending the money to reskin the seat knowing what a coffee drinker my dad is so a modern bench with cup holders will be sourced from the junkyard. Second is the rear bumper, ugly, ugly, ugly! I'm really liking the idea of fitting a modern Ram bumper with the exhaust cutouts to the truck instead of the factory blocky looking one. Still thinking about the front?

My first '69 road runner had been sitting at least 10 years before I got it. The tank looked just like that. IIRC the plastic tanks have the cappy marked on the top of the tank.

I saw a bunch of numbers but none that made it clear, think I saw a 20 but it didn't say 20 gallons so I figured best way to make sure is to fill it up. I'll look at it again. Thanks
