A friend needed a starter on his daughters van, he brought the van over with a starter, 2 cups later I started on it, he had a good used starter, I got it put in it started twice and on the third try...nothing. The solenoid is bad, I will get one next week from the rebuilder I know. Now about that beer Polara mentioned...
 
Had two cups of Fufu before work and I'm amped up for my little excursion tomorrow, somim kinda bouncing off the walls right now. Great, be wired while I work, doing nothing. I'll get four hours sleep, then off to Indy to pick up a '68 Monaco 500 from a fellow FCBO member. Then turn around and hesd home. Hope I can do it in the 24 hours for my rental of the truck and trailer, but I'll have to play it safe.
 
2 cups down and did some much needed work on my oldest's Explorer. The muffler was getting rotten and he didn't want to do anything until he got pulled over. So a warning later from a State Trooper it was new muffler time. While I was at it I fixed a few small leaks at the Catalytic converter and exhaust pipe to it.

I also had to reinforce the frame at the rear of the truck where the leaf spring hangers attach. It was getting really thin and flexing. No flex now and the suspension even sounds different over bumps.

Then some support on the inside of the frame, the bushing for the top of the shackle is in a mount attached to the frame. I welded some steel to it and to the frame. Not as pretty as it could be if I really cared about it. It just needed to be functional

I finally got full time heat in the garage last weekend so it looks like I'll be back to updating the Dad's ol Dodge thread as work has began again. Unfortunately there is another reason to kickstart this build before my garage is quite ready, dads health is slipping, think he just had another heart attack.

It's good to hear you got heat and about to update the old thread. I hope your Dad is okay!

Had a frothy Mocha with my buddy Cliff and his apprentice Caleb on Monday....pulled the tranny out of the A100 to get the Torque Converter balance re-checked. Have an annoying mild vibration at around 3,000 RPM and up. Need to sort it out, as it wasn't there before the engine swap a few months ago. Although, I doubt the previous engine revved that high....lol

The 67 Polara 500 I saw at Farmington in 2017 is to blame. Since then the body style has grown on me, and the dead was a good one, although I spent a little more on transport than I had hoped. Oh well, "Money isn't real, Georgie!" And I got to drive it on to the trailer! That never happens.
 
I am sitting here enjoying a fresh cup of joe and waiting for the cooking to start, my wife has plans for me.
 
My wife had more plans for me today, started off with a couple cups of joe. Ran an did a few errands, had a late lunch then put up the Christmas tree and some decorations. My youngest son and his girlfriend helped with the tree. Nice quiet day. Were baking cookies now:)
 
Had a cup this morning and went and looked at a truck box on the local auction site. Started hanging my icicle lights and found a strand that only half were working. Sat down with a second cup, the computer and googled icicle light repair. 6 bulbs later and their working and hung up. I am overjoyed that they work and I didn't have to buy another strand. My wife wanted them up so if I couldn't have repaired them I would have been heading to the store.
 
Anyone have any big new year plans? I started today trying to get ahead of my honey do list. Cup of coffee, ran a couple of errands, put a new light socket is the hanging lights in one bathroom. Now I think it's time for lunch.
 
I plan on hitting the lottery, and having someone else do all my bidding under my watchful eye as I gain another 50 pounds, LOL.
 
I have been planning on winning the lottery for a while, I only play when it starts to get quite large, but other people keep getting my cash. I guess I will have to keep working.
