I have a 413 from a motorhome and a 1985 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 318. How hard would be to combine these two?

How hard would be, or if it could be done, to put the main shaft out of the small block tranny into the big block tranny?

You will need the case from a 78 big block 727 at least. Will check and see if the 76-78 will work. Anything older and the input shaft will not mate with the out put. It maybe simpler to just find the bb-rb trans and transfer and swap the existing out.
I don't have the book for internal changes after 78.

I would not use a case older than 76. Install all the 85 internals and upgrade what drums and planetarys that need to be. If you stick with a reputable transition parts supplier the parts are not all that expensive.

I had a 400/727 in my 84 when I got it, it can be done. As @7mopar said, use the right parts, or get the BB trans and swap the whole deal in.

man , i'm in calif and i've got the running gear from a 75 ramcharger se , 440 auto with transfer case attached . only had 60k on it .

Just remembering here. You had better check how the converter attaches the crank shaft. Some of those bolted directly to the crank shaft with no flex plate. If that happens to be the case I don't think the converter will mate with the pump drive and input shaft associated with lockup transmissions.

This would be a simpler swap using the short shaft trans from the motor home and a divorced transfer case. It would also be the strongest option.
