After being truckless for years I've decided on a new 1/2 ton pickup. So far I've driven the '18 F150 and am impressed with the eco boost V6 motor. The ride is smooth enough but jiggles when you get off the gas pedal. The '19 RAM looks great and has neat features but have not driven one yet. Am anxiously waiting for the '19 GMC Sierra to hit the dealer lots. Love the features of the new GMC.

Would be interested in any comments/discussion from anyone who has owned any or all of the above brands...

If money isnt an object the Ram if it is the GMC.
The Ford is nice but any thing eco boost for some reason hits the off switch in my mind.

I've heard a lot of not so good about the eco boosts, nothing in detail, but nothing really good especially when you're talking durability/longevity. Short term power and fuel consumption they get some raves though. I buy things to keep though, so I'd avoid them.

I've heard alot of bad things about the ecoboost after about 60000 miles. I liked the power and the smooth ride of the new rams.

Which eco boost engine? The 2.7L gets better mileage than the 3.5L. The best thing you can do with any of the new trucks is oil changes using quality oil, semi syn or full synthetic.
Some of the eco boost Fords can have timing chain problems and from what I have seen it's from lack of maintenance, same for the vvt systems in the Ram and GM's.
Depending on your driving habits, change the oil at 4-5,000 miles.

Just drove the new RAM and think I'm in love...The ride is smooth and the hemi power hard to beat. Love the interior on the upper trim levels. Also like the ram box feature. Interesting that GM has eliminated cd players in their trucks this year. Yeah, I know its old school but I have a huge collection of cd's I don't want to scrap 'em. After all, it is my 50+ grand right? Anyone had any experience with the multi level suspension system?

Because of a botched back surgery, I had to find something that road better than my 07 2500 Ram CTD 4x4. It has been a great truck that I bought new but it is murder on my back. So I went out this past Friday looking at new 1500 ram 4x4's. I drove three 2 new ones and one 2017 Laramie Longhorn 4x4 1500 with the hemi that had 12K miles on it. I bought the 2017 and I love it! Rides like a dream.

Yes the grey one. Still a great truck, but my back can't take the rough ride any more. Bought a 2017 Ram Laramie Longhorn 1500 4x4.
A member on FCBO bought one this year, only option it didn't have was the butt scratcher. Those things are nice! @Polara_500 said his truck rides better than his cars, a 2014/15?

They are so sweet, hard to believe it's actually capable of hauling a load. Here's mine.....

Thanx for all the comments...think I'm ready to order my 2019 Laramie Longhorn. Been waiting for the rambox to go off of production hold.

Not so much in the box, especially with the ramboxes as you have to take the shortest bed to get them. But it'll drag a trailer real nicely, even with it loaded down pretty good - scaled it at 12,600 on a run from Houston to Northern MN and averaged 14.5mpg,
