So I have this posted on another forum, but the more people I reach out to the more results I get. I live outside the Springfield area and want to track down a good, trustworthy machine shop by the time I find an engine I'm after. There's a shop called Caldwell's in Springfield, but between their reviews and a firsthand warning that one is a no-go. I got recommendations for a couple shops in Vancouver, and I'm willing to travel that far for a trustworthy machinist, but I was hoping for something a little closer.

Morning, Bob has delt with a couple of machine shops here in Vancouver, he says good old school shops are gone, just depends on what you need done

Well when I've finally found it, I'll have a 340 I want machined. Tanked, mag'd, bored (minimum amount needed), honed, etc. 340's aren't as easy to come by as a 318 or 360, that's why I won't send it to a crap shop to be gacked. I hear quite a few machine shop horrow stories, ones who won't do the old-school act of "stand by your work" so when they screw up someone's block they tell em they'll re-machine it for more $$$$
