Anyone here done this? From what I understand they should bolt right up without any extra parts minus the replacement shackles and such. Anything I should keep in mind?

I upgraded my suspension in my old 82 Ramcharger 4x4 for less than $150! I went to a truck bone yard and bought a 3/4 ton set of 4 springs for $25 each. My stock 1/2 ton springs had 2 or 3 leafs in front and I think 4 in back. The 3/4 ton springs had 6 leafs. I changed out the entire front springs with new hardware of course. The rear was even easier. I did what the junk yard guy suggested. I put the rear up on blocks, undid the u- bolts, clamped the spring pack and removed the through bolt and leaf wraps. I then slowly released the clamps on the spring pack and removed all leafs from the mains which were still bolted to the hangers. I then cut the loops off of each end of the 3/4 springs and put them directly under my main springs. I installed a new long through bolt and some new wraps along with new u-bolts. The rear now had 7 leafs on each side. Truck would now only drop 1" with plow mounted and raised. Also. the front sway bar was no longer needed as it was so stiff it hardly leaned at all. The whole truck raised over 3 inches. It worked great and I will do this with any other Leaf sprung truck I get in the future. I think you can see the truck in my garage. Of course now that it has been almost 2 months since you posted and getting cold out it might be too late! Good Luck!

Done this swap on my 88 RAMCHARGER 4x4 Springs were from a w350 crew cab for the front 6 leaves and M880/W200 for the rear. no more sagging on the rear. total amount of lift is about 2" . which is a mid lift enough to clear 33" bf goodrich.

Just remember heavier springs will not increase total load capacity. Just make handling the load better.

Im back, front drivers spring is getting pretty bad and i found a set of w250 fronts, so what exactly will i need other than the springs. Bushings, shackle bolts, shackles, am i missing anything? Are the 150 u bolts and plates good? TIA, complete beginner here

It's been over 15 years since I did this and I don't have the truck anymore , but.....If I recall, I bought larger, heavy duty U-bolts and such, but I didn't necessarily have to. I ended up having to drill the holes in the plates larger which was tuff because they are hardened. If I remember, the passenger side uses one U-Bolt and 2 bolts. I also reused the rear shackles on the front as I never unbolted the top. Also, if you only do the front, the back of the truck will be lower and it will look stupid. If you end up doing the rear too, and even if you don't , you will need to adjust your headlights up or down as needed. You can use the same size U-bolts as the front axel isn't being changed and that is what the U-bolts go over. The springs are the same width, just thicker or more of them. Also, I recall being told NOT to lubricate the U-bolts! You want them to rust in place! I got that tip way back in 1978 when I worked in a Dodge truck dealership. Make sure you support the truck frame well while you are under it! Also, spray the hell out of all bolts and nuts with WD40 or some other rust-bust several times in the days prior to the job, it really helps to break stuff loose. Good luck to you!

As multimopes said, use both front and rear springs so the level is right, use new u bolts of the same size, and put them in. I like PB Blaster for loosening bolts and nuts, just make sure you spray it on ahead of time. I start at least a week if they are bad, and respray every couple days. Usually only need 2 good sprays, but I give them extra.
