Hey all,
I have a Silverado That I inherited, It is giving me problems with "Check Engine Lights". This truck was front end wrecked twice, and the last one had blown the airbags. I am thinking the module might have been damaged somehow as this truck never had a light problem before the last one. Everytime it sets a light it is a different code. Does anyone know where the P.C.M. is located, and does anyone know of a company that repairs them?

Look on the Drivers side under hood in front of the under hood fuse box and down towards the frame rail. What codes are you getting? Check under the under hood fuse box for wire with rodent damage. Very common spot for critters.

If housing got cracked, water does the thing you described. Had a car with computer in fender, corroded through housing and salt covered roads wreaked havoc on the computer.
Replaced 3 transmission sensors, kept asking for more.
40 bucks for a used ecm and its good.

I am looking at the power module now. From what I have been able to find out G.M. used that one in just about every V8 that year.

Well guys finally got to the bottom of this. Had two problems causing this, 1st, Truck sat for almost two years after the wreck, very bad gas in it, filled up with premium and put a bottle of Stabul in it and drove it out. 2nd, Spark plugs were wrong, and ignition wires were broken down. Changed plugs and wires and running fine now. Also passed emissions.
