I just bought a 92 D350 dually LE. It's very nicely equipped with working AC, tilt, PW, PDL, PM, and non working cruise. It has just under 200K and has receipts for over $3000 worth of repairs, parts, and upgrades over the last 2 yrs. Things like rotors and pads, all new front end parts, clutch, trans rebuild, master cyl, alt, 5" exhaust, shocks, front springs, 4 new dually tires, water/meoh injection, and numerous other little things. I did have to replace the lower ball joints, buy 2 tires, and get it aligned. It was an IA farm truck that drug a 5th wheel to FA every winter and the body is nearly rust free with only a small spot coming on the driver's side floor board, EZ fix. The original owner did manage to ruin the DS bed top with his trailer. He then beat it out and troweled on bondo with a rake and painted it with a roller. Not really but it looks bad. Still all in all, I'm a happy camper. I was looking for a donor truck for my 80 D150 diesel project but I think my plans are changing. Right now I'm leaning toward swapping doors and fenders and thus getting the earlier body style I like so much. From there, who knows. I drove it to the Mopar Nats last sat and got smack on 23 mpg with the AC running part time. Like I said, I'm a happy camper.

Nice truck! Ya know, you could have left it in Iowa for me to get... Out of state people know more about trucks near me than I do!

I actually found it in CraigsList, northern WV. It was in Wellsville, Oh. I had just missed a 91 250 in the same area but it had rust and other needs. This is by far the better truck. It has a bigger turbo and bigger governor spring. It has valve springs to match the spring but they've not been installed. I'll get to it. Right now I have a trans leak that looks like a rear seal. That will be a priority. But it does scoot and you can't slap the grin from my face.

Awesome! I'd love to get a Cummins from that era but haven't found the justification fo it, not yet. I love those trucks and have always wanted to have a dually. Some good trucks gave slipped out of my area, but you can't have them all. Keep us posted on the truck, love to see them keep pounding the pavement!

I can justify the diesel and the overdrive. At least the overdrive. That 23 mpg would make the 82 D350 a daily driver. I am jealous.
How did an Ia farm truck get lost so far from home?

I'm not sure how the most recent PO ended up with it but he was fixing whatever he found wrong. That's good news for me. Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of other things but all the big stuff is done.

What is the max veichal weight? In 82 it was 10750. The largest load with a trailer to date has been 17850 the suspension handles it but do not expect to climb any mountain ranges with a gas 360. Even with the 28 gal tank range is a safe 200 miles and a problem you should never have.

I don't know, I'll have to look.

Great rig. Down here in Texas those 1st gen cummins are big bucks even if they are rusted out with 250k miles. Been looking for one to possible swap in the 83 crew cab. Was the market more affordable in IA?

Well first, I thought IA was Indiana, not Iowa, my bad there. The truck is from Indiana. Around here (WV, Parkersburg area) I was looking at driving trucks between $2500 and $5000 within a couple hrs drive. My truck was advertised for $4500. I missed a 2500 for $3000 by being a day late. It was not nearly as nice or as clean as the truck I bought.

It looked like 10100 lbs.
Thought the Cummings trucks had heavier frames. I would have guessed more. I have talked to a few with trucks like yours that with a gooseneck gross 28000. I would have to be on flat land before even thinking about that.

You planing on engine and complete drive train ( trans and differential ) or just engine and trans? My 82 is geared way to low for just an engine trans swap. Would have plenty to the ground but a 45 mph top speed will not do it.
That is a nice looking 83 you have there.

My plan at this point is to swap the earlier fenders, bed, and doors onto this truck. Much less work. I don't need a dually and on our road it's a trial sometimes so I will probably switch to SRW and sell all the dually stuff at that time. I would like higher gears than 4:10s too.

Right now just working on getting the 83 360 4spd more daily driver capable. Working out some of the electrical kinks and such here in Texas Ac is a must. I have thought about a cummins swap but currently don't have a large enough shop to take on that project. Time will tell. Always looking for a great donor deal.
