Gonna drive it like it is for now, but I would like to step it up a bit. Have to finish my other projects first. Slant 6 and manual everything. Heat and no AC. To this point I have done full brakes all around, tune up (I like the easy reach on plugs), and some repairs on the driver door to the mechanism.

Looks good. Question, are the gauges in the end pieces all stock? I've never seem a dual gauge on the left side before. What gauge is on the far right?

Gauge on the far right is a tach. Are you referring to the the aftermarket oil and temp hanging down or the vacuum and volts?

It has them all doesn't it? This is the first I have seen with those two in a cluster. I replaced the fuel gauge and it works until about a half tank. Not sure what I screwed up between the tank and the gauge but it works enough for me to have not run out of gas yet!

A buddy has a 79 Lil Red that has a tach and a clock in the outer parts of the dash, and it's got a 150mph speedo also. We think that was swapped in. I've been on a mini mission to see what gauges were available and I think yours is the first I've ever seen a double gauge in the left side, or right side for that matter.

Darth440, yours is the second one I've seen, I just looked and found a pic from a few months back, same gauges and tilted just the same.

Polara's tach looks factory...mine is a sport comp. Spent some time today going over the "needs list" on the truck. Hand worked some on the hood and fender tops to get the haze out. Ain't Mecum....but better!

Would not think much If the big block doesn't go to extstream. Bellhousing and maybe some z shaft mods.
I have always liked the cluster portion of those dashes. Paint looks like it has held up well over the years.

Yeah, I haven't built anything very extreme. I am sure it would be easier than my 440 Dart. How cool would it look with some stacks and a pair of carbs sticking out of the hood? Lol

I'm doing a "Big Red" treatment to my 72, so yes to the stacks. Hi rise tunnel ram to get those carbs sticking out of the hood? Lots of room under the hood!

I really want to keep the 4spd so I will just have to keep an eye out for one on down the road. Right now it is doing my 60 mile round trip commute no issues.

View attachment 6471 Potential drive train...maybe Bear can chime in and tell me what I need to do to keep my 4 speed with it!
Before I say anything , I got to say "NICE TRUCK !" Now about the swap . I didn't take a good look at your motor so your going to need motor mount brackets , truck oil pan & pick up , dip stick , small brake booster , proper power steering pump & bracket ( I can't see which one you have ) , and either headers or manifolds and while I'm on the subject of headers , I would strongly suggest a mini starter . For the transmission ? You've already got the correct tunnel . From the picture you posted I'm going to say you have the A833 style transmission and It's a three speed with 4th being an overdrive gear ? So if that's the case , your going to need the bell housing , clutch fork , Z bar and adjusting rod and I think that's about it , off the top of my head . What year is your motor by the way?

That "would" look cool . That's in my future plans for my 79 . The carbs will end up being flush with the top side of your hood if you did . so basically the only thing you would really see would be what ever you put on for air cleaners ( or stacks ) .
