It is starting

I've always loved traveling the roadways my self , stopping at truck stops and old school general stores , meeting new people and such . There's nothing like it .
I had been going to the Mopar Nationals in Columbus for almost a decade, and the folks I went with never had any extra time off, so we bonzai'd the whole run every time, rotate drivers and stop only for gas. I met my girlfriend a month after the Bats, and the next year my usual crew bailed due to no money, so I asked if she wanted to go, I'd pay for everything, she agreed. The first 5 miles were a learning experience, she told me to turn the radio down so she could sleep (we left at 2am) and asked if I was leaving the window down the whole time. Staying awake with road noise being louder than the radio is tough! We stopped every hour or so, she's got a fused back, so she gets uncomfortable after a while. It was nice to see some of the stuff I had driven by and never had a chance to check out. Told one of the old crew about stopping and seeing things, "yeah, that's the way to do it." Wanted to strangle him!

I found, and promptly forgot, a sweet road in Wisconsin that was used as a detour for the highway construction. I was wishing I had the Polara, it was an up and down, twisty, spanking road with lots of blind hill/turn combos. Hardly got over 45, but it was an awesome experience. Even the girlfriend thought it would be fun in an old car. Daylight might have made it easier to see, we were on it at night, but it might not have been as intense. Come over a hill at speed, brake hard, dive into turn, back on gas, repeat again and again. Too many flat roads where I live.:(

There from a little town called Maysville . It's on the Ohio side of Kentucky . I tell yah , every time I've been there , I "don't" want to come back . At night you can look up and almost touch the stars and the people have always welcomed me with open arms . But I'm a country boy at hart so the thought of moving out of the city has always been a dream of mine . Yeah I've always loved traveling the roadways my self , stopping at truck stops and old school general stores , meeting new people and such . There's nothing like it .
So cool, yes the best part of a road trip is junk food, pop, and yes little mom and pop stores and cruising down the hiway and seeing all the junk in peoples back yard

After a long chilly day yesterday we spent the evening in the shop watching the ball game with the fire going and of coarse whiskey, and beer. Told everyone we were out of town, and what a race that was, today the big boys race

Sounds like fun. You sure have a lot of goodies in that garage!

Hey, careful there, I resemble the latter half of that statement........... unfortunately Anne doesn't often enter the shop so she can't help me find much, I have to buy the replacement to do that. :banghead:

My girlfriend pokes her head in the garage and says, "you need to clean this up." Thanks, tell me something I didn't know.

Yes so much stuff and its a good thing I know where Bob puts things, he would lose his head if it wasn't attached.
That's cool that you and Bob share in the joys of collecting things. I dint always think the same as my better half. She likes things that are complete and I like things that might need some work (a description of myself!). We get along well enough that the cops haven't been called though! She always wonder why I don't concentrate on a project and move on to the next. " But honey, he was selling the Super Stock intake for Max Wedge ports complete with carbs and linkage at such a cheap price, I had to get it. And not knowing what engine build to do, it made perfect sense!" True story, that's how I decided what to do with my Dart. But an intake, build an engine. She may never fully get me.

I do like the color, although not particularly on that car. Moreso on a Cuda or the like.
The 65 Barracuda was bought brand new by Bobs dad who died the same year and Bobs mom didn't drive so it sat in a barn until Bob turned 15 then his mom gave it to him and Bob has had it since.
