This is to clarify one of my doubt regarding replacing air filter. I am not okay with the power of my ford truck. One of my friend suggested me to install C&N air filter. As I am not much familiar with automotive industry I need to take suggestion from people who have expertise in ford diesel engine repair. Does anybody of you know about this? If so please share its advantages and disadvantages.

C&N air filters ? Never hear of them . Do you by any chance mean K&N air filters ?

I have had them on most of my gas vehicles no real difference, now the cold air system gives a bit of a noticeable gain on gas.

Swapping to a K&N filter is a good starting point for most people just because it flows better then a stock filter . But you won't feel much if anything in the power department . Like Hops said and it would be the next step up from just changing out the filter would be to install a fresh or cold air system . You won't have a rocket ship but it will improve the performance and fuel economy of the truck . Then the next step after that would be to open up your stock exhaust with a lower restrictive aftermarket system . Hope this help's Douglas .

Just a quick question . Are you having issues with a serious lack of power or are you looking just to add a little more to what you have ? If it's the first one then ( where it's a Ford ) I'd be looking to see if there was any issues with the turbo it's self . Just my two cents .
