Now we'll see if the trans will last. It ran fine with the wheels in the air. Sure was cruddy in there too.....
 
Well done Cranky....just a fluid change then?
 
Fluid and filter. Didn't adjust the low/reverse band tho. Wanted to see if it was going to act like it did before. I'll be changing it again soon along with a new filter and will adjust the L/R band. The inside of the trans looks pretty nasty. After dropping the pan I knew I had been in it before but I'm sure it was 15 years ago and most likely used Dexron II.
 
Yeah , run it for a little bit and then do another service and I think you'll be fine . Good job !
 
The filter must have been plugged, did you pull a cooler line and run it to drain the converter?

I know it's an older thread, I'm late to the party...LOL
I didn't catch the orig. thread or problems either...
Anyway, how many miles before it started showing signs of issues ?
just curious
is it the 44re ?
