I have a 77 dodge van chassis motorhome, rebuilding the 360 and need a good cam that will work with stock compression.I have a summit 6900 that came with the van but it is stamped e937p which is an Elgin cam.Elgins site says needs high comp,Summits sight doesn't really say.Suggestions appreciated,Todd

At first I thought that I was late to the party.....is any one out there??????
Cam specs would determine the need for more compression. The best cam I have used in a 360 is the old 340-manual trans grind. A close second is one of our in-house regrinds. Roughly: adv dur 270; dur at 050 around 210; lift around .450

I'd look for something between 215-220° at .050 lift and keep the duration smaller if you need power brakes. Brand is up to you. The Comp XE262 would be great. I actually run that in my '87 360.

There both giving you very good advice on cams . With your application , you don't want o go to big . Even an RV cam witch is very close to the 340 cam would work really good for you .

Depends what u wanna do with it, I run the comp cams mutha thumpr in my 408 stroker, runs mean sounds mean and it has tons of low end power, now I realize this is for a van lol I agree the 262h is pretty good

Does MP still sell the purple shafts? If I remember right those were basically RV cams weren't they? I had a 260/268 dur 430/.450 lift in basically in a stock 360. I was quite please with it, wakes up the stock 360 on the bottom end pretty nicely.
