I got sick of watching my buddy's 87 Ram rotting away.
The paint on the roof and hood are completely shot and water is getting through what used to be paint.
The roof drip rail is getting bad and I told him he needs to seal it all with something.
After two years of "I'm gonna do this" and "I'm gonna do that" I sent him to the hardware store in town
"Buy a quart of Tremclad flat black and a roller and a couple of brushes....I'm gonna turn your Ram into an R/T"

I let him paint one spot on the roof.....which he screwed up.
After that I assigned him to gunk removal on the box so I could put a coat of wax on the poor thing.

First pic is before I took his brush away.

How did he screw up painting the roof? Do you have to apply it a certain way?

Not at all. No real technique required. Tremclad rust paint sticks like glue to anything. But it was sunny so it dries really fast. He put a bit on and got a paint brush hair in it so he decided to wipe it with a nice filthy rag. Chunks ahoy. I let it dry and sanded it down but he was making extra work for me so he got fired....lol.

I basically just scuffed the old paint and rolled on the black. I did an entire Chevy Craprice like that. Looked like a Mad Max car after......

I have to ask the same question. If your buddy screwed up painting the roof of his own truck with a brush....what's he like spreading butter on his pancakes?? :p

It actually look's like it came out pretty good ! Now the next time you'll know enough to just have your buddy hold your beer for you and stay away from the brush's . lol
